Diagnostic Vocational Evaluations

The Diagnostic Vocational Evaluation takes place here at the Keon Center. This is a ten day vocational evaluation with the primary goal of assessing ones capability of working in the community.

This is done by our evaluator performing a full functional and situational assessment. The individual is given a multitude of tasks to complete. During this time, the individual is assessed in areas such as attendance, punctuality, work tolerance, both fine and gross motor skills, attention to task, the ability to follow multiple step directions, the ability to communicate their wants and needs, and the ability to work well with ones coworkers. This provides a good understanding of an individual’s vocational strengths and areas of need. Our evaluator works closely with the individual and their family to develop and explore the most appropriate vocational plan. The individuals support network, whether family or residential service providers, are an important part of the assessment and future planning as well.

This Site is Dedicated to the Memory of
Dennis Keon.

Dennis Keon

Dennis was one of our original consumers, and we had the pleasure of sharing his life for over 50 years.

Dennis' family were pioneers. They raised Dennis at home and he truly became an active part of the community. We are named after Dennis' father who was instrumental in giving us the brick & mortar of our first school.

While we have grown over the years from a school to an agency now serving disabled adults in a variety of programs, we have maintained the Keon name to honor the efforts put forth by Dennis' family in fostering the dream of community living and reaching goals that at the time seemed unreachable.

We are truly blessed for all that Dennis gave over the years. He will always be with us.
